Jamie Shapiro is the new director of
special projects in the commercial division of Union Lighting.
“I grew up in the lighting industry,” says
Jamie. “My late grandfather, Moe Shapiro, began his career at Union back in
1928 so as you can well imagine, I grew up surrounded by lighting. After
learning the business from the Naimer family, he moved on to start his own electrical
distribution company. Years later, my
father would join him making it a family affair. My dad taught me the ins and outs of the
electrical world and I quickly became immersed and a part of this incredible business
community.”
Jamie finds joining the Union family so
exciting as it has both, brought him full circle, and provided the opportunity to continue hia career
in the industry that he knows and enjoys the most.
“My career path has provided me with many
things; perhaps the most special, is the opportunity to follow my own passion,”
Jamie notes. “ The position of,Director of Special Project, is the role that
will allow me to tackle and achieve in many different areas. One of my specific
interests is undoubtedly the LED movement with a focus on the horticulture
industry. Another of my focuses will be in the area of exterior lighting.
“I truly look forward to showing our
clients all of the opportunities that are now available with the most advanced
technologies and the quality products that Union has to offer. I am so enthused
and looking forward to successfully growing the Union brand through my already
established network of existing customers and forging new relationships with
those customers I have yet to meet!

Jamie Shapiro est
le nouveau directeur de projets spéciaux relevant de la division commerciale
d’Éclairage Union.
« J’ai grandi dans l’industrie de l’éclairage », explique Jamie. « Feu mon
grand-père, Moe Shapiro, a débuté sa carrière chez Union en 1928, donc comme
vous pouvez vous l’imaginer, j’ai été élevé avec de l’éclairage partout autour
de moi. Après avoir appris le métier de la famille Naimer, il a démarré sa
propre compagnie de distribution électrique. Des années plus tard, mon père
s’est joint à lui, en en faisant une entreprise familiale. Mon père m’a
enseigné les tenants et aboutissants du monde électrique, et j’ai été
rapidement plongé au sein de cette incroyable communauté d’affaires, dont je
faisais alors partie. »
Jamie se réjouit à la pensée de se joindre à la famille Union, la chose lui
apportant à la fois un retour à ses origines, et l’occasion de poursuivre sa
carrière dans le domaine qu’il connaît et aime le plus.
« Mon parcours de carrière m’a apporté plusieurs choses ; la plus
importante est possiblement l’opportunité que j’ai eue de suivre ma passion »,
note Jamie. « Le poste de directeur de projets spéciaux est ce qui me permettra
de relever des défis et d’atteindre des objectifs dans plusieurs différentes
sphères d’activités. L’un de mes intérêts, plus spécifiquement, est sans doute
le mouvement LED, et ce avec une concentration sur le domaine de
l’horticulture. Un autre de mes champs d’intérêt sera celui de l’éclairage
extérieur. »
« J’ai véritablement hâte de montrer à notre clientèle toutes les
possibilités qui s’offrent à elle, grâce aux technologies de fine pointe et aux
produits de qualité qu’Union a à offrir. Je suis emballé par l’idée de faire
rayonner la marque Union avec succès, au moyen de mon réseau de clients
existants déjà établi, et en forgeant de nouvelles relations avec des clients
qu’il me reste à rencontrer ! »
